
Caroline K. Williams is the founder of Chicago Muslims Green Team (CMGT). She is passionate about science, environment, and journalism. Before focusing on CMGT, she was active as a secretary of DIC (Downtown Islamic Center) Toastmasters Club where she received certification in Leadership and Public Speaking. She also served as a Board Member of R-Ladies Chicago, an organization to promote R programming language among women. In 2018, she founded the Astrostatistics Study Group and was selected as one of the NASADatanauts. She also finished her C3 (Chicago Conservation Corps) training, joined Citizen Science Asia as a Global Ambassador and became a Documenter for City Bureau.
Before moving to the US, Caroline earned her Masters Degree in Physics at the University of Indonesia. She received a full scholarship to finish her degree from her work at an Indonesian non-profit organization in the field of physics outreach. She recruited volunteers in organizing the first Asian Physics Olympiad, and was appointed as the head organizer of the first Indonesian Physics Amusement Park festival that attracted hundreds of participants. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering, traveling, engaging in outdoor activities, and creating arts and crafts by using recycled materials.
